1. The Department

We provide effective leadership and management, ensuring compliance with Premier League rules and government legislation, whilst maintaining key stakeholder relationships internally and externally.

2. The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Matchday Welfare Support Officer to join the Safeguarding Team who provide support at Villa Park on a matchday and other events.

In this role, no two days will be the same, you will be the first point of contact and respond to any safeguarding and welfare incidents within your designated location and resolve immediately wherever possible and escalating where needed. You will be a vital part of our Matchday teams, attending briefs and debrief and ensuring that real-time, accurate updates are provided to the control room and that thorough incident reports are completed post event. This is a real opportunity to directly support and enhance the wellbeing and trust of our fans and guests at Villa Park – making a lasting impact and creating the best possible experience.

3. The Person

You will need to be at least 18 years old (due to Safeguarding requirements) with a strong understanding of safeguarding and welfare. You will need to be able to deliver professional and exceptional customer service whilst solving problems and remaining calm under pressure. You will meet a wide range of people in this role so you will need fantastic interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with different audiences with clear, concise and accurate communication skills. Experience of working in a similar role in a sporting stadium is desirable.

This is a matchday role so you will need to be available to work flexibly, including our Men’s and Women’s home matches and any other events at Villa Park which will include evenings and weekends.
