Co-founded by four U.S. Women’s National Team legends—Brandi Chastain, Aly Wagner, Danielle Slaton, and Leslie Osborne—in partnership with global investment firm Sixth Street, Bay FC is changing the face of women’s soccer as we know it. Position Summary
The Performance Nutritionist provides world-class, evidence-informed nutrition support to optimize player health, performance, and recovery. Working as part of Bay FC’s integrated medical and performance team, this role designs and delivers individualized and team-wide fueling strategies, oversees daily nutrition operations, and ensures all dietary practices align with player needs, training & game demands, and the club’s performance vision.
Responsibilities
Athlete Nutrition Support
- Advise athletes on daily nutrition for performance, health, recovery, body composition, and supplement use.
- Identify and support athletes at risk for nutrition disorders or disordered eating.
- Design and supervise individualized recovery nutrition & hydration strategies.
- Evaluate athlete energy expenditure, balance, and body composition to develop protocols that achieve performance and health goals.
- Maintain proactive communication and collaboration with athletes’ external nutrition providers to ensure consistent messaging and aligned support plans.
Travel, Meal and Catering Management
- Coordinate all aspects of team travel nutrition, including meal planning, hotel menus, and in-flight nutrition.
- Order and manage meals for home and away matches, training sessions, and team events.
- Work with catering staff at practice facilities to ensure athletes receive nutritionally optimized meals.
- Develop menus and meal schedules that align with training load, competition schedule, and individual athlete needs.
Data Analysis & Program Evaluation
- Track and document measurable outcomes of nutrition services.
- Analyze and interpret collected data in the context of enhancing athletic performance and health.
- Evaluate food and herbal supplements for legality, safety, and efficacy, making informed recommendations to athletes.
Education & Program Development
- Provide individual, small group, and team nutrition education.
- Develop and coordinate printed, multimedia, and interactive nutrition-focused educational materials, including practical skills.
- Clearly communicate evidence-based nutrition recommendations to athletes and coaching staff.
- Contribute to innovation within the nutrition area by integrating new methodologies, technologies, and evidence-based practices.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Sports Nutrition, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Licensed Dietician/Nutritionist (RD/RDN) required
- Experience providing nutrition services to elite or professional athletes is preferred. Bonus points for supporting professional female athletes and their unique needs.
- Strong knowledge of sports nutrition, recovery strategies, body composition assessment, and supplements.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel with the team.
Compensation
The anticipated salary for this role is starting at $100,000. Actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
