The Role

Boston Legacy FC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Goalkeeper Coach to lead all aspects of goalkeeper development and performance, with additional responsibilities in video analysis to support goalkeeper training and match preparation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Coach and technical staff to integrate the goalkeeper unit into the team’s tactical identity, while also supporting match preparation through video review.

This role requires a coach with deep positional expertise, the ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance environment, and the skill to leverage video to maximize goalkeeper development and match readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Goalkeeper Training & Development

  • Plan and deliver all goalkeeper training sessions, aligned with the team's tactical framework and game model.
  • Create individualized development plans for each goalkeeper.
  • Monitor technical, tactical, physical, and psychological progress through ongoing evaluation.
  • Integrate goalkeepers into team sessions in a purposeful and productive way.
  • Manage goalkeeper workloads in coordination with performance and medical staff.

Video Analysis & Performance Review

  • Prepare customized video clips for goalkeeper training, match preparation, and post-match review.
  • Analyze goalkeeper performance trends in training and competition.
  • Conduct opponent analysis related to attacking threats, penalties, and finishing patterns.
  • Use video to support individual goalkeeper development and team tactical goals.

Matchday & Collaboration Duties

  • Support goalkeepers in their physical and mental matchday preparation.
  • Provide in-game feedback and participate in post-match debriefs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with goalkeepers built on trust, communication, and accountability.
  • Be an engaged member of the coaching staff with input into broader team planning and decisions.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years experience coaching goalkeepers at the professional, national team, or top collegiate level.
  • Strong understanding of modern goalkeeping techniques and tactical demands.
  • Demonstrated experience with video analysis software.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel and work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • US Soccer Goalkeeper B License (or equivalent); A License preferred.
  • Former playing experience as a goalkeeper at a high level.
  • Experience in women’s football or with female athletes.
  • Familiarity with NWSL competition and tactical trends.
  • Experience supporting or leading set piece preparation (defensive and/or attacking).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or other) is a plus.
