Nature of Work:
In this role you will oversee all matters as it pertains to safety and security around events and day to day activities at all Denver Summit FC owned and operated facilities. You will serve as the primary authority as it relates to event day staffing for safety and security related positioning including but not limited to parking lots, gates, in-stadium, field, and athlete/staff/officials.

Examples of work performed:
  • Vet, hire, train, and onboard a Coordinator of Safety and Security; and
  • Create, manage, and implement plans as it relates to venue/physical security, executive protection, player and coach protection; and
  • Serve as a key stakeholder and contributor to the creation of an Emergency Preparedness Plan for Temporary and Permanent Stadium while auditing, updating, and enhancing once published; and
  • Effectively staff, manage, and operate the Command Post on stadium event days serving as the main POC and Director of the Command Post. Command Post responsibilities to include but not limited to staffing stakeholder groups, managing stadium timeline (not competition), opening gates, calling for secondary gate break downs, triggering on-field security postures, player and official field escorts, reviewing camera footage, and closing the stadium; and
  • Work with Coordinator of Safety and Security to create full season and day-of-match credentials along with identifying various credential access controls zones; and
  • Vet, hire, train, and onboard 3rd party security event personnel; and
  • Conduct post event investigations as it relates to various in-event incidents and make recommendations to Stadium GM and stakeholders on issuances of bans and duration; and
  • Work closely with Team Operations and Medical staff to ensure coverage at trainings and matches for security, ambulances, and stretcher crews; and
  • Conducts internal safety and security training for 3rd party contracts, employees, and vendors as needed; and
  • Manage contracted security personnel to ensure compliance with professional standards and our standard operating procedures; and
  • Responsible for staffing assignments for each event as it relates to safety and security including but not limited to: private security, private medical, law enforcement, fire, traffic control, intelligence communities, EMS; and
  • Serve as a stakeholder for any escalated issues or emergency situations; and
  • Conduct risk assessments for each event hosted by Denver Summit FC or on Denver Summit FC controlled properties. Work with away venue security team to understand potential threats and coordinate for team personnel, visiting supporters, and any VIPs for any away matches; and
  • Develop relationships and maintain communication with NWSL, Centennial/Denver PD, Centennial/Denver FD, Centennial/Denver EMS, RTD, ROW, HSEM, FBI, NWS, TSA, and other related agencies; and
  • Work closely with Sr. Director of Stadium Operations to achieve a balance between security measures and a high level of customer service; and
  • Create, manage, and adhere to an annual operating budget and create expense projection documents for various events; and
  • Deliver timely staffing plans and expense projections for various types of events including but not limited to Denver Summit FC matches, Reserve Team/Academy, USSF matches, International Friendlies, concerts, club rentals, etc.; and
  • Responsible for CCTV and user access for all Denver Summit FC controlled properties; and
  • Serve as primary liaison between Denver Summit FC and the NWSL Safety and Security Department; and
  • Remain current with local, regional, national and international events and scale staffing and other protective measures accordingly; and
  • Maintain certifications and standards for various building and public assembly standards

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
  • Typical Office Conditions
  • Primary location to be at Permanent Stadium once completed
  • Travel between facilities as necessary
  • Would require workspace hoteling at certain facilities
  • Lift 50 lbs. daily
  • Work in extreme weather conditions

Qualifications:
Minimum
  • BS/BA degree in Sport Management or related field
  • 6+ years’ experience in the field of Professional Sports and Live Entertainment
  • Experience with recruiting, hiring, training, managing, motivating a team
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred
  • Experience within Professional Soccer (NWSL, MLS, or USSF)
  • Experience either working with or working for 3rd party contracted security groups
  • Experience either working with or working for Public Safety Agencies (Police, Fire, Intelligence, EMS, Military, etc.)
  • Experience with TV and radio broadcast a plus
  • Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards.

Compensation:
  • Base salary range $95,000 – $135,000 per annum
  • Eligible for annual discretionary bonus
