Our organization currently includes a women’s professional soccer team competing in the Gainbridge Super League, with a men’s professional soccer team joining USL League One in March. Beyond professional soccer, Fort Lauderdale United operates a growing soccer academy and volleyball academy, along with NFL FLAG football programming, with basketball and lacrosse programs also in development.

Position Overview

The Food & Beverage Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day execution and guest-facing side of Fort Lauderdale United’s food and beverage operation.

This person will ensure our four stadium bars and Coquina are properly staffed, clean, organized, professionally presented, and ready to operate for every applicable game, event, and operating day.

This is a highly visible, hands-on position. The Operations Manager will be on the floor leading staff, interacting with guests, solving problems in real time, and making sure the experience consistently reflects the standards of Fort Lauderdale United.

The ideal candidate has strong hospitality experience, is comfortable managing people in fast-paced environments, and takes pride in creating an organized, welcoming, and professional operation.

Key Responsibilities

Bar, Coquina & Event Operations
  • Lead front-of-house food and beverage operations across Coquina and all four stadium bars.
  • Ensure each location is properly set up, clean, organized, staffed, and ready before opening.
  • Be on-site and highly visible during professional matches, private events, watch parties, community events, and other applicable programming.
  • Manage opening, service, closing, and post-event procedures.
  • Conduct walkthroughs before, during, and after operations to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and service standards are maintained.
  • Ensure bar areas, guest-facing spaces, storage areas, and workstations remain clean and organized.
  • Coordinate with other departments to understand event schedules, attendance expectations, VIP needs, and other operational requirements.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for food and beverage staff during events.
Staffing & Team Management
  • Recruit and maintain a dependable pool of bartenders, servers, barbacks, and other hospitality personnel.
  • Build staffing schedules based on expected attendance, event type, operating hours, and anticipated demand.
  • Confirm staffing in advance and proactively resolve gaps before they become operational issues.
  • Train employees on service expectations, POS procedures, responsible alcohol service, opening and closing procedures, cleanliness standards, and Fort Lauderdale United hospitality expectations.
  • Assign staff appropriately across the four bars and Coquina.
  • Manage staff performance and accountability.
  • Ensure staff are properly dressed, prepared, and positioned before doors open.
  • Create a positive, professional culture focused on hospitality, urgency, teamwork, and accountability.
Guest Experience
  • Serve as a visible hospitality leader during operating hours.
  • Monitor speed of service, customer interactions, cleanliness, and overall presentation.
  • Address guest concerns professionally and resolve issues quickly.
  • Continuously evaluate the customer experience and recommend operational improvements.
  • Ensure Coquina and the stadium bars provide a consistent experience regardless of event size.
Coquina Operations
  • Take ownership of the daily front-of-house operation of Coquina.
  • Ensure Coquina is properly staffed and prepared whenever it is scheduled to open.
  • Maintain clear operating schedules and communicate staffing and operational needs internally.
  • Work with Marketing and leadership on programming designed to increase attendance and establish Coquina as a year-round destination.
  • Support watch parties, networking events, private events, themed nights, and other programming.
  • Ensure the venue maintains a professional and welcoming appearance at all times.
Marketing & Programming
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop promotions and programming that drive traffic to Coquina and other food and beverage operations.
  • Help execute watch parties, themed nights, happy hours, networking events, game-day promotions, and other concepts.
  • Provide operational feedback on proposed promotions to ensure they can be executed effectively.
  • Identify opportunities based on customer feedback and behavior that could improve attendance or the guest experience.
Operational Standards & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain opening, closing, cleaning, staffing, and event checklists.
  • Maintain clear staff schedules and operating calendars.
  • Communicate staffing issues, facility concerns, guest feedback, and operational challenges to leadership.
  • Provide post-event feedback regarding staffing levels, service issues, customer behavior, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage Procurement & Inventory Manager to communicate inventory needs and ensure each location has the products and supplies required to operate.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, alcohol-service, and operating requirements.

What We’re Looking For
