Fort Lauderdale United FC is a rapidly growing professional sports organization based in South Florida, building a multi-sport platform centered around professional teams, youth development, entertainment, and community engagement.
Our organization includes a women's professional soccer team competing in the Gainbridge Super League, with a men's professional team joining USL League One in March 2027. Beyond professional soccer, we operate growing youth sports programs spanning soccer, volleyball, and flag football.
Position Overview
The Cinematographer & Editor will help shape how Fort Lauderdale United FC tells its story, connects with supporters, and builds its identity across South Florida.
This multidisciplinary creative role combines high-end cinematography, documentary storytelling, advanced editing, live streaming production, and innovative marketing execution.
From emotionally powerful player features and original documentaries to live productions and bold guerrilla marketing campaigns, this individual will bring the club's story to life across multiple platforms.
We're not simply looking for someone who can shoot and edit video. We're looking for a filmmaker who can capture emotion, inspire audiences, and make people feel something.
Key Responsibilities
Cinematography & Storytelling
- Produce cinematic content featuring men's and women's teams, players, coaches, supporters, and community.
- Develop documentary-style features, brand films, promotional campaigns, and original programming.
- Capture professional matches, training sessions, community events, and behind-the-scenes experiences.
- Identify compelling human-interest stories that strengthen emotional connections with supporters.
Editing & Creative Production
- Deliver premium video content incorporating advanced editing, color grading, sound design, and motion graphics.
- Create content for social media, broadcast, digital marketing, and stadium presentations.
- Develop graphics, animations, and visual treatments that elevate the club's creative identity.
- Manage production workflows from concept through final delivery.
Live Streaming & Original Programming
- Produce long-form digital programming, interviews, documentary series, and club-produced shows.
- Execute live streaming productions, including multi-camera setups, audio, graphics, and technical direction.
- Develop original content formats that expand audience engagement and digital reach.
Guerrilla Marketing & Community Engagement
- Collaborate on unconventional marketing campaigns, grassroots activations, and supporter experiences.
- Create innovative content around street-level promotions, community events, and cultural moments.
- Develop shareable campaigns designed to generate organic engagement, earned media, and ticket sales.
What We're Looking For
We seek a passionate filmmaker with exceptional creative instincts, technical expertise, and an understanding of how storytelling builds brands and communities.
Qualifications
- Film school education or an exceptional professional portfolio demonstrating equivalent experience.
- Strong demo reel showcasing cinematic storytelling, emotional depth, and advanced editing.
- Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and professional production equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of lighting, composition, audio, color grading, and motion graphics.
- Experience with live streaming, multi-camera production, and OBS or vMix preferred.
- Strong graphic design capabilities and creative concept development.
- Experience in sports, documentaries, branded content, or experiential marketing preferred.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and matchdays.
Portfolio or demo reel required with application.
