In its 12th season, the league continues to grow exponentially, with 2024 attendance topping 2 million fans for the first time- the third straight year the league surpassed 1 million in total attendance. Viewership across all broadcast media partners - Amazon, CBS, ESPN and Scripps - was up 285% year over year, and team valuations continue to soar. This growth underscores the league's expanding fan base and growing presence in both the sports media landscape and in pop culture. The future of the NWSL has never looked brighter.
Position Description
We're looking for a Finance FP&A Partner who will work side-by-side with our Marketing & Broadcasting teams as the go-to person for budgets, forecasts, and insights, as well as supporting other departments as needed. that help departmental leaders make smarter, faster decisions. This role will focus on helping the business grow sustainably, spotting risks before they become problems, and tracking the ROI of investments.
What You'll Do

Own the Numbers

Build and manage budgets and rolling forecasts for your business lines.

Coordinate expense tracking, CC transactions, and other costs for the departments

Track expenses closely and flag when we're off course.

Recommend adjustments so we stay on track and invest wisely.

Work closely to our accounting team and understand how our P&L is impacted, as well as aligning on both big picture account tracking and invoice categorization to match budget

Be the Business Partner

Work hand-in-hand with department leaders, translating financials into plain language and actionable takeaways.

Support strategic decisions with data-driven insights and scenario planning.

Bring financial perspective to new projects, deals, and initiatives.

Analyze & Advise

Dig into monthly results, explain variances, and highlight opportunities for both savings and investments

Deliver clear reporting that tells the story behind the numbers.

Identify trends, risks, and actionable areas for efficiency
Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes

You have a passion for women's sports, you're genuinely excited about the sport of soccer, and feel energized by growing its impact across the USA and globally.

Effective at verbal and written communication and able to deliver high quality work and execute under deadlines

Advanced in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Oracle financial systems and Google Suite a plus

Bachelor's degree required

1-2 years of relevant experience in financial planning, AP

Has a strong professional and positive presence/image that represents the league both internally and externally.

NWSL observes a hybrid work schedule of three working days in the physical office and two remote working days.
NWSL salaries are contingent upon candidates' qualifications, functional business needs, and market financials.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000.
