WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Director, Product Merchandising, to join the Global Product Merchandising team. An ideal Product Merchant is a collaborative teammate with a history of excellence, strong problem-solving skills, and phenomenal attention to detail. You will need strong leadership skills, organizational skills, a drive to craft outstanding products, and the ability to learn, adapt, and lead quickly. A passion for serving our consumers is required. We are looking for someone who can partner effectively with diverse teams around the globe and across Converse org.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
The Product Merchandising team manages the Chuck Footwear Porfolio for men's, women's, and kids. This role will lead multiple teammates through the product creation process, obsessing over the needs of consumers our consumers, and partnering with cross functional peers. You will lead the product offense. This includes ensuring profitability while delivering fresh solutions for our consumer needs. Managing the sports line, you will work on lifestyle and performance product management teams across the genders to ensure alignment and drive a complete footwear portfolio offense. You will also collaborate with merchanding, design, development, and marketplace planning on the footwear creation process from line planning through final product approval. You will research our product, consumer, and marketplace, manage product creation workflow and data, maintain product tools, and effectively collaborate across functional partners. You will deliver on critical dates and hold yourself accountable to be a great teammate.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will work closely with your product management cross-gender teammates and global merchandising, design, development, marketplace planning, and marketing teams to manage the product creation and advise our go-to-market process.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising or a related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
- 3+ years Leadership of multiple direct reports in a fast pace, agile work environment.
- 8+ years' relevant experience in Footwear Product-Creation related roles. Women’s Footwear a plus.
- Influencing skills. Ability to drive vision and strategy across functions while respecting the balance of competing interests.
- Experience managing and developing a team of direct reports
- Keynote presentation building and presenting along with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven experience translating a footwear vision into a multi-year line plan.
- Relationship management and professional athletes
- Passion for skateboarding and sneaker culture.
- Able to demonstrate a deep understanding of and streetwear consumers (tastes, habits, preferences, interests & behaviors)
- Optimism. Dedication to bring hopefulness and confidence about the future.
