NJ/NY Gotham FC (“Gotham FC” or “the Club”) is a National Women’s Soccer League (“NWSL”) team representing New Jersey and New York. The team plays at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ. The Role:
The Pro Player Pathway Performance Specialist will be a full-time member of our multidisciplinary team (MDT) while also be connected and aligned with our 1st team High Performance staff. This position will be specifically responsible for all strength & conditioning, return to play and sports science strategies for our Gotham FC’s 2nd team and Development Center (DC) players. Responsibilities will also require proficiency in both practical and administrative aspects of player monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:
Generic Duties
  • Oversee Strength & Conditioning operations for Gotham FC 2nd team & Development Center (DC)
  • Oversee Sports Science tools and strategies
  • Attend all scheduled training and games (home and away)
  • Maintain and report daily data and analytics report
  • Deliver educational content during the annual talent ID tournament
  • Maintain good standing with NWSL, USSF, and other national team federations
  • Assist on vision and planning of the program’s future growth
Specific Duties
S&C / Sports Science Operations
  • Budget planning and upkeep
  • Equipment management, travel planning/packing
  • Supplies inventory and ordering
  • Team sessions scheduling and workflow
  • Weight Room organization and upkeep
Applied S&C / Sports Science
  • Wellness survey monitoring & management
  • GPS system management & data analysis
  • Injury prevention, lift, recovery sessions scheduling, programming, and delivery
  • Energy system development planning and delivery
  • Lead with baseline assessments and post-injury re-assessment
  • Lead with all injury prevention programming
  • Assist in the return to play and reconditioning process
  • Assist in the planning and periodization process
  • Assist with all rehabilitation programming
  • Weight Room organization and upkeep
  • Educate and monitor recovery strategies
S&C / Sports Science Administration
  • Maintain all records on the club’s athlete management system
  • Maintain a clean data platform
  • Generate reports from various data sources as needed
  • Communicate effectively on all player status updates and training limitations
  • Establish and deliver a daily GPS report

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s or equivalent in Sport Science, Kinesiology, Physiology, or a related field
  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) accreditation or equivalent
  • Proficient soccer skillset with playing experience at the collegiate level or higher is desirable
Capability & Other Characteristics:
  • Demonstrate superb analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Knowledge of performance requirements for adults and youth female athletes
  • Experience working with performance monitoring systems (e.g., GPS and force measurement products)
  • Experience working in collaboration with coaches and other support staff in a multidisciplinary high-performance team
  • Proficient in computers with software such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI
  • Strong verbal, written, in-person, and presentation communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, data collection, and planning skills
  • Able and willing to travel for away games.
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Current and valid driver's license
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Location:
This position is fully in-person, based at Gotham FC’s soccer operations office and practice facility, currently located in Whippany, New Jersey. The person must be able and willing to attend all Gotham FC home games, away games and other business-related travel. Gotham FC requires its employees to live in its market, that is, within reasonable commuting distance of Gotham FC’s office, practice facility, and Sports Illustrated Arena

Salary range: $50,000-$70,000 annual
