We're opening a flagship PPA pickleball facility in Mesa, Arizona, and we're looking for an entrepreneurial General Manager to build and lead the business from the ground up.

This is a revenue-first leadership role for someone who wants to own the results — not simply manage the facility. You'll be responsible for building a thriving business through membership, programming, court utilization, events, and community. If you're a racquet-sports operator who loves building teams, growing revenue, and creating communities, this is your opportunity to put your stamp on our flagship facility!

What You'll Do

  • Own the Business: Lead the facility's P&L, budget, revenue growth, expenses, and profitability.
  • Drive Membership: Build, sell, onboard, and retain a strong membership base.
  • Grow Programming: Develop leagues, clinics, lessons, academies, camps, drills, and other revenue-generating programs.
  • Maximize Court Utilization: Create strategies that keep courts active and revenue-producing.
  • Lead Events: Plan and execute tournaments, corporate events, community events, and PPA activations.
  • Build the Team: Recruit, develop, and lead teaching professionals and facility staff.
  • Create the Community: Establish the facility as a premier pickleball destination in the Mesa/Phoenix market.
  • Be the Face: Represent the PPA brand and create an exceptional experience for members, guests, and players.

Required:

  • Proven experience operating a racquet-sports, fitness, hospitality, recreation, or similar customer-facing business.
  • Demonstrated P&L, budget, revenue, or significant financial management experience.
  • Track record of growing membership, sales, revenue, or customer participation.
  • Experience building and managing programming such as leagues, clinics, lessons, camps, or academies.
  • Experience hiring, leading, and developing a customer-facing team.
  • Strong sales and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to be on-site and highly visible, including evenings and weekends when the business requires it.

Strongly preferred:

  • Pickleball or tennis facility management experience.
  • Experience managing a multi-court racquet facility.
  • Director of Racquet Sports, Director of Tennis, Club GM, or similar leadership experience.
  • PTR, PPR, USPTA, or other recognized racquet-sports certification.
  • Teaching-professional background combined with business or management experience.
  • Experience running tournaments or large-scale events.
  • Existing relationships within the pickleball or tennis community.

Based out of Mesa, Arizona.
