Racing Louisville FC is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist to join our Sports Medicine team. This role is responsible for evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating professional athletes in an elite performance environment, while supporting injury prevention, return-to-play progression, and overall player wellness.
A year-round employee, the Physical Therapist will be a full-time role and will attend trainings, scrimmages, Home and Away Games, as determined by the Head Athletic Trainer
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat musculoskeletal injuries and conditions
- Develop and oversee individualized rehabilitation and return-to-play programs
- Provide medical coverage for trainings, matches, and team travel
- Collaborate with physicians, athletic trainers, performance staff, and coaches
- Support injury prevention, player monitoring, and concussion management protocols
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and comply with league and regulatory standards
- Assist with emergency action planning and ongoing player care initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Master’s of Physical Therapy (MPT) or Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited physical therapy program.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in an elite sport environment (e.g., professional, collegiate, Olympic).
- Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE).
- Current and valid Physical Therapy license in the State of Kentucky or ability to obtain prior to start date.
- CPR certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (or equivalent).
- Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) required.
Preferred:
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
- Corrective Exercise Specialization (NASM-CES).
- Performance Enhancement Specialization (NASM-PES).
- Soccer-specific experience strongly preferred.
