Job Description
The Manager, Finance is a regular full-time position reporting to the Controller. The position oversees the financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities that support USA Volleyball’s National Team pipeline and Foundation operations. This role ensures sound fiscal management across a complex portfolio of athletic programs, fundraising initiatives, grants, and philanthropic resources. The position will serve as a strategic partner to leadership, driving financial integrity, compliance, and efficiency.
Cross departmental collaboration and support is a general expectation of all USAV employees. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO or Irvine, CA and is not eligible for remote work.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:
- Contribute to the implementation of various financial policies & procedures.
- Prepare detailed budget reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making by management.
- Aid in development and analysis of organizational budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals and operational needs.
- Collaborate with department heads to review and adjust budgetary requirements based on project performance and changes in funding.
- Monitor and track spending, ensuring that expenditures are within budget limits and identifying areas for cost-saving opportunities.
- Serve as the finance liaison for the national teams and USAV Foundation.
- Review and reconcile financial aid disbursements for the National Team Development Program.
- Report on grant spending to ensure compliance with USOPC reporting requirements.
- Support USAV Foundation with all regulatory filing requirements.
- Maintain GL records and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with annual audit activities to include preparing documents for auditors.
- Conduct routine month-end adjustments after financial review.
- Develop and deliver budget training to staff, improving understanding of budget processes and financial reporting.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum five years of working experience in Accounting or Finance.
- Demonstrated experience managing accounts receivable is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well independently or on a team.
- Ability to maintain and protect confidential information.
- Possess advanced level skills in Microsoft office products especially excel.
- Demonstrated work experience with Limelight and NetSuite is preferred.
- Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening (prior to hire date).
- Must successfully complete Safe Sport training within two weeks of hire date. Training must be maintained throughout employment.
Salary:
- Colorado Springs Location: $65,000-$70,000
- Irvine Office Location: $70,000-$75,000
