Job Description

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role exists at a defining moment for the organization — bridging non-profit mission with the commercial sophistication required to fuel USAV's long-term growth, athlete programs, and competitive excellence. The CIO deploys a forward-thinking "Builder" strategy, establishing the commercial frameworks, capital partnerships, and asset infrastructure that will ensure USAV's financial sovereignty and mission integrity for decades to come.

A primary requirement is the ability to operate at the intersection of private market investment and nonprofit governance, translating complex financial structures into clear organizational strategies. The CIO will be deeply informed about market dynamics across finance, real estate, and commercial enterprise, using business intelligence to identify and pursue opportunities that complement and amplify USAV's mission and competitive positioning. Intellectual curiosity, analytical rigor, and a passion for building sustainable institutions are essential.

The CIO will be expected to lead with confidence and clarity having the ability to simplify sophisticated financial concepts into compelling narratives, cultivate trust, and drive accountability across complex, multi-stakeholder environments. The position demands a constant focus on results, with a measurable framework of KPIs and reporting against strategic investment objectives.

Essential is to champion a sense of inclusion, safety, and collaborative behavior across the organization, developing a culture that manifests integrity, humility, and consummate professionalism. Above all, the CIO's work must consistently connect to what matters most: growing the sport of volleyball, advancing the success of our athletes, and ensuring USAV remains a world-class national governing body. The position is located Irvine, CA.
