The Role
The Industry & Sales Intern will play a key role in supporting the USTA’s 35x35 initiatives. National efforts focused on programming, playbooks, and strategies designed to grow player participation and retention. The intern will also assist the USTA Connect team in managing strategic growth partnerships that expand tennis participation and unlock new capital opportunities for the sport.
This internship is ideal for a self-starter with an interest in digital partnerships, event management, and the business of sports. The intern will gain exposure to cross-departmental projects, high-level partner engagement, and the operational planning behind one of the Industry & Sales Department’s largest annual events: the USTA Connect Partner Event at the US Open.
35x35 & Growth Partnership Support
Assist with execution of 35x35 initiatives focused on player acquisition, retention, and grassroots program development
Support growth partnerships aimed at expanding participation and identifying new funding opportunities
Contribute to the development of playbooks, marketing materials, and national programming resources
USTA Connect Partner Management
Support the onboarding and communication process for new and existing USTA Connect partners
Help ensure marketing, integration, and activation deadlines are met
Collect, organize, and report partner data; assist with uploading data into the Kinetica platform
Generate and distribute catchment reports to partners, tracking performance and engagement metrics
Program details:
8-week program from June 9 through August 11
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM ET
Hybrid role requiring 3 days per week on-site at our Orlando office.
Compensation: $35.00 per hour
Who You Are
Current graduate student pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, Communications, or a related field
Strong organizational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with CRM systems or data visualization tools is a plus
Able to multitask and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Passionate about sports, particularly tennis and eager to contribute to the USTA’s mission of growing the game
