The Washington Spirit are seeking a Matchday PA Announcer for the 2026 season and beyond. The PA Announcer is a high-energy individual who will enhance the overall fan experience and entertainment value at all home Spirit matches at Audi Field. The Matchday PA Announcer operates under the direction of the Events team.

Auditions will be held on January 20th, 21st and 22nd.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Serve as the PA voice of the Spirit during all home matches.
Reading and speaking clearly and enthusiastically from a pregame and in-game script, produced by the Events team.
Monitor the game flow and be able to improvise and take direction where necessary, including responding to on-field action, weather and emergencies.
Attend rehearsals where necessary and provide feedback to continually improve the overall matchday fan experience.

Requirements:
  • The ideal candidates will reside locally.
  • Must be available for all home Spirit matches at Audi Field.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous announcer experience preferred in sports or performing arts.
  • Indoor and outdoor work with some exposure to adverse conditions.
  • Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays in support of matches and events.
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination prior to employment start date.

  • Effective problem solver and flexible thinker can operate confidently without regular, direct supervision.
  • Thrives in a team environment.
  • Passionate about the Washington Spirit, women’s soccer, and women’s sports and willing to continue learning and supporting the organization’s mission, values, and goals.
  • Excellent communication, collaborative, and customer service skills.
