The Maintenance Technician III – (Lead or Supervisor) serves as a senior-level technician responsible for the technical oversight, system optimization, and complex maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems that power the wave generating machine. This position plays a key leadership role in diagnosing high-level issues, guiding junior staff, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating with engineering, OEMs, and operations to ensure the system is safe, reliable, and performing at peak efficiency. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician III position may be tasked to help with other maintenance needs that arise throughout the property. This could include but is not limited to diagnosing maintenance issues, leading and directing maintenance for those issues which may include HVAC repairs, cart/vehicle maintenance, pump and pipe maintenance and other mechanical needs.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Lead system-level diagnostics, troubleshooting, and permanent corrective actions for the wave basin’s mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems
- Serve as the technical expert for wave-generation hardware/software, including PLCs, VFDs, sensors, actuators, and system control interfaces
- Develop, revise, and implement preventive maintenance programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Act as lead technician during system startup/shutdown, special events, or system upgrades
- Interface with equipment manufacturers, engineers, and IT teams for system calibration, firmware updates, and system improvements
- Mentor and support Maintenance Tech I and II team members through on-the-job training and guidance
- Perform advanced testing and commissioning of wave basin components, including fault analysis and trend reporting
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, performance metrics, and repair logs in CMMS or similar platforms
- Lead or support system retrofits, large-scale projects, and seasonal overhauls
- Ensure all work complies with safety codes, OSHA regulations, and company policies
- Participate in emergency response protocols and be available for after-hours on-call maintenance support
Experience and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or Technical School training preferred
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical/electrical systems maintenance, preferably in amusement, aquatic, or industrial environments
- Proven expertise in at least two technical disciplines: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, controls, or water treatment systems
- Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, control diagrams, and wiring blueprints
- Experience using CMMS platforms and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, PLC interface software, vibration analyzers)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work at heights, in confined spaces, and in wet/humid conditions
- Demonstrated leadership ability and project coordination experience
- Certified scuba diver or willingness to become certified
- Valid driver’s license required
- Proficient with various computer systems for example ms project, sharepoint, excel and word
Preferred Qualifications and Personal Attributes:
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
- Electrical License or Certification (Journeyman or higher)
- PLC/Automation experience (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- HVAC, Hydraulics, and Water Filtration Systems experience
- OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety training
- Exceptional work ethic
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible is essential
- Strong team player
Working Conditions / Physical requirements (if applicable):
- Primarily shop/outdoors during the day and occasionally at night.
- Outdoor work conditions will involve weather, noise, and hazardous materials
- Frequently working on or near heavy equipment.
- Humidity is frequently above 90%.
- Noise is over 85 decibels.
- Light is intense/glare.
- Occasional exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
- Required to work at heights

Compensation Data: Hourly Rate $37.00 - $40.00 based on experience
