Summary:
The Chief of Staff serves as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the Chair, driving alignment, prioritization, and execution across the executive office and the broader organization. This role enables the Chair to operate at maximum effectiveness by managing strategic initiatives, internal communications, and operational rhythms.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Partner with the Chair to define and track strategic priorities, ensuring alignment across the leadership team and WTA Tour/WTA Ventures.
- Translate long-term strategic priorities into clear annual OKRs and measurable initiatives.
- Manage the interface between WTA and WTA Ventures, ensuring commercial goals (media rights, sponsorship, innovation) stay connected to player and tournament priorities.
- Oversee special projects such as global expansion, new tournament frameworks, or revenue diversification initiatives.
- Lead or support cross-functional strategic initiatives from conception through successful execution.
- Monitor performance metrics and organizational health indicators; prepare executive-level analyses and recommendations.
- Anticipate issues and proactively surface insights, data, or solutions to support decision-making.
Executive Office Management
- Manage the flow of information, decisions, and communications in and out of the Chair's office.
- Cascade priorities through the organization and ensure consistent global messaging.
- Prioritize and coordinate the Chair's agenda, ensuring effective use of time and focus on the most impactful activities.
- Prepare briefing materials, analyses, talking points, and reports for internal and external meetings.
- Serve as the liaison between the Chair and senior leadership, ensuring follow-through on commitments and decisions.
- Drive the operating cadence — leadership meetings, quarterly business reviews, and key communications between ELT, SLT, and regional offices.
- Identify and remove roadblocks across functions (e.g., player services, competition, media, partnerships).
- Lead cross-functional “glue” projects, from process design to change management.
Leadership Team & Board Engagement/Governance
- Coordinate leadership team meetings, offsites, and key planning sessions, setting agendas, facilitating discussions, and tracking outcomes.
- Lead Board meeting preparation, including materials, presentations, and follow-up actions.
- Lead communication between Chair and Board.
- Foster communication and collaboration across leadership and functional areas.
- Serve as chief liaison to the WTA Board — shaping agendas, synthesizing materials, managing follow-ups, and ensuring decisions are actionable.
- Build structure around Board and Committee engagement (including players, tournaments, federations, and external partners).
- Ensure alignment between Valerie’s office, the Board, and the global tournament network; maintain confidentiality and disciplined messaging.
Special Projects & Initiatives
- Lead time-sensitive or confidential projects on behalf of the Chair.
- Evaluate business opportunities, partnerships, or operational improvements as delegated.
- Drive implementation of organizational initiatives that improve efficiency, culture, and impact.
Education and Experience:
- 7–12+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy, operations, or executive support roles. Prior experience working as a Chief of Staff or similar function, including working across global, highly-dispersed organizations and leadership teams.
- Experience working in large organizations with diverse stakeholder groups, driving alignment that leads to action and results.
- Proven experience working closely with senior executives and boards to drive strategic initiatives and organizational alignment.
- Experience in communications, stakeholder management, and relationship building across internal and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex operations, budgets, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior involvement in organizational planning, leadership development, or culture initiatives.
- Familiarity with governance, events, or athlete relations in a global or membership-based organization is a plus.

Position Type/Work Schedule:
Full Time, 40 hours a week. Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday. Must be available for occasional evenings/weekends.
