About the Role
X Games is looking for a Director of Content to lead the daily digital media engine behind one of the most iconic action sports brands in the world.
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role owns the strategy and execution of X Games’ digital presence across social platforms, YouTube, and emerging media channels. The Director of Content will help transform X Games from an event-driven media brand into a daily digital destination for fans of skateboarding, BMX, snowboarding, and youth culture. This person will operate like the editor-in-chief of X Games digital, programming the stories, athletes, and moments that shape action sports culture.
We are a small, entrepreneurial team building something big. This role is ideal for someone who wants to move fast, experiment, and help build a global sports media platform.
Responsibilities
Digital Content Strategy
- Lead the digital strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms
- Define the voice and storytelling style of X Games digital content
- Turn X Games into a daily digital media presence
Content Programming
- Own the digital programming calendar
- Develop repeatable content formats and series
- Elevate athlete storytelling and creator collaborations
- Extend live competition moments into digital content
Audience Growth
- Grow the X Games audience across all digital platforms
- Optimize content performance through analytics and experimentation
- Identify new distribution opportunities and creator partnerships
Team Leadership
- Manage social media and digital content contributors
- Work closely with live broadcast, marketing, and partnership teams
- Coordinate with production partners and external creators
Qualifications
- 8+ years in digital media, sports media, or creator-driven platforms
- Experience growing social or YouTube audiences
- Strong instincts for youth culture and internet storytelling
- Ability to operate hands-on in a fast-moving environment
- Builder mentality — comfortable working in a lean organization

The base salary range for this role is $135,000 – $160,000. Compensation is determined based on factors including (but not limited to) experience, skills, job-related knowledge, and geographic location.
