Women's Series - Chengdu
USA Basketball
USA Basketball begins the 2026 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series campaign with a four-player roster of young standouts featuring Joyce Edwards, MiLaysia Fulwiley, Mikaylah Williams and Sahara Williams as the United States open competition this weekend in Chengdu, China.
The Competition
The USA women enter the first tournament of the 2026 edition of the series as the No. 9 seed of 16 teams competing. Last year, the United States played in four stops on the tour.
The USA are slated to begin pool play on Friday, May 1 at 2 a.m. ET, tipping off against the winner of Qualifying Draw B (to be played several hours before), followed by a matchup with Australia at 3:40 a.m. ET. Depending on results, the knockout rounds — including the quarterfinals, semifinals and final — will be played on May 2.
The Ulaanbaatar Amazons (MGL), Amsterdam (NED) and Team Australia (AUS) are among the top ranked teams entering the series.
Following opening weekend, the U.S. women will depart to Manila, Philippines to compete in a mid-week stop from May 6-7.
Additional competitions are expected to be added as the season unfolds.
The USA
The U.S. bring a blend of elite collegiate talent and proven 3x3 performers, with all four players holding prior USA Basketball experience.
Mikaylah Williams and Sahara Williams both return to the team after competing in the 3x3 Women’s Series last year. They also both represented the U.S. at the FIBA 3x3 Women’s World Cup in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, last summer and, prior to that, played alongside each other in two gold-medal-winning U18 World Cup runs in 2022 and 2023.
Edwards, a standout for national runner-up South Carolina, returns to the 3x3 stage after helping the U.S. capture the 2025 3x3 Nations League Americas Conference title. She owns three gold medals, including the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, and boasts a decorated USA Basketball career that dates back to 2023.
Fulwiley joins Edwards once again after competing alongside her at the 2025 FIBA 3x3 Nations League and USA Basketball 3x3 Development Camp.
2025 Campaign
Last year, the United States played four stops on the Series and secured a pair of podium finishes — highlighted by a second-place finish at the Ulaanbaatar Stop prior to the 3x3 World Cup. They also competed at the Bordeaux, Jakarta and Marseille stops. There are 22 total stops in the 2026 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series, which runs into September.
